I don’t know that there’s a better place to watch the sunset in Bryan/College Station, Texas, than Lake Bryan. The open water and landscape transport you somewhere that feels almost coastal. A quick escape without going far from home. That’s why I knew I wanted to bring this free-spirited couple to Lake Bryan for their couples session.
Recently inspired by Christopher Nolan’s take on The Odyssey, I was drawn to the location for its open water and sense of scale. At golden hour, the water reflect magnificent colors and the sky looks otherwordly. However, as the sun disappears, it settles into a cinematic blue hour that feels entirely different.
The possibilities at Lake Bryan seemed endless. We moved from fields with vegetation taller than us to open, beach-like stretches along the water, giving us plenty of room to explore without the session feeling confined to one look. It’s one of those places that makes it easy to wander and see where the evening takes you. And you’ll see at the end exactly where that led!
